Did you know that Medicare does not cover 100% of Medicare related expenses?

That is why you need a Medicare Supplement insurance plan.

Why do I need Medicare Supplement insurance?

Original Medicare will help cover medical expenses but does not pay all costs.  Many people on original Medicare also buy a Medicare Supplement (Medigap) plan to help with Medicare Approved Amounts. For instance, on certain plans, Medicare only pays for 80% of the Medicare Approved Amount for most doctor services, outpatient therapy and durable medical equipment, while you typically pay 20%.   A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policy, can help pay your portion of such remaining health care costs, like such co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles.

Understanding Medicare Basics

Medicare is the US government health insurance program created in 1965 and is called Original Medicare.  It provides individuals 65 years or older with healthcare coverage. It is made up of Part A and Part B – and is accepted by most doctors and hospitals in the country.  Part A, covers in patient care in a hospital, skilled nursing facility care, inpatient care in a skilled nursing facility (non-custodial or long-term care) hospice care and home health care. Part B helps cover preventive care, services from doctors and other health care providers, outpatient care, some home health care, supplies and more.

Part A and Part B come with deductible amounts, coinsurance and or co-payments for most services. Together Part A and Part B cover about 80% of the typical healthcare costs seniors face- leaving a few significant Gaps in coverage (Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) can help fill in these costs).

Plan D covers outpatient prescription drugs. Many seniors add a low-cost prescription drug plan to their existing policies to even out their expenses month to month, or lower their overall costs.

Medicare Supplement Plans

Your co pays and co- insurance for Medicare can be covered by a supplement plan.  We help you through the Medicare Maze by helping you analyze the variety of plans and obtain the best plan.  We are proud to work independently, and we have access to virtually every major insurance company and their plans. We are dedicated to knowing everything we can by tracking premiums, rate increase history, and trends across all companies so you are able to make an educated decision about your healthcare.  We take pride in the hundreds of testimonies throughout the United States of the service we provide.

There are many Medicare Supplement plans to choose from.  A licensed professional can help you compare these plans.  We can give you the details and help you determine for which plans you qualify.  For example, while Plan F is now phased out for new enrollees, if you weren’t already enrolled by January 1, 2020 then you won’t be able to purchase it. If you already have Plan F, you can most likely keep it, and you may be able to switch to a different company for a lower premium.

Plan G is a clear alternative plan which has many of the same basic benefits as Plan F.  For those not eligible for plan F, Plan G is now one of the most comprehensive plans available with the most coverage. In addition, lots of people are switching from Plan F to G to save money. You could potentially save hundreds by switching from F to G.

Every Medigap plan is regulated. For anyone wondering what the difference is between the plans, we explain the different aspects of the plans and figure out which plan may be useful for you. We also know which companies offer a lower premium which can save you money.  It is helpful to work with an experienced licensed professional in order to help you navigate the Medicare maze and make sure you have the right coverage.
